Is this a regular travel agency? No, you book your flight(s) yourself at the travel agency of your choice - we are based in Phnom Penh. Visa requirements are very simple in Cambodia. All you have to do is to have 2 pass photo's with you and US$ 20 , to buy a 1 month-tourist visa on arrival at the air port (it can be extended for one more month, if needed). No need to go to a Cambodian embassy in your own country. If you want to stay longer than 2 months, you can buy a business visa for US$ 25 instead, also on arrival. That one is valid for one month on issue, but can be extended up to one year and repeatedly so, never having to leave the country. There are no other requirements to stay in Cambodia for as long as you wish. (Looking for a retirement-country in SE-Asia? Forget Thailand with its visa-hassles!). |

Why us, instead of a travel agency in your own country? |

Is it worth to come to Cambodia just for a dental treatment?
Absolutely! The biggest advantage is that you can save a lot of money, but it’s not the only one. The quality of the dental service in Cambodia is of the highest level; you couldn't’t get a better one at home. Moreover, there are no waiting lists. Read more about the high-level, low-cost dental care and surgery in Cambodia. Dental traveling to Cambodia is not only as a patient, but also as a tourist. We are sure that you will enjoy your stay here! |
Why are your prices far lower than from most other dental traveling services world-wide?
Cambodia is an extreme low-cost country, which is the main cause. In addition, we don't take a commission fee from the dental clinic - you pay the same there as anyone else (naturally, a clinic would add any commission costs to its prices). |
What does your service comprise?
We pick you up from the airport and bring you to a hotel, where we have reserved accommodation for you. The next morning we will bring you to the dentist on an appointment we made for you in advance. If you wish, we will also guide you around in town during your stay and bring you to places of your interest. There are also many various tourists day-trips available, organized by the many travel agencies here. |
Do the medical teams and guides speak English, or will I need translators?
English is widely spoken by educated people in Cambodia. The dentists often had their education abroad (ours for implantology in Korea) and thus speak English. We are the guides and we are fluent in English, Dutch (native), German and Swedish. |
Do I have to pay anything in advance?
No. You pay us a cash service fee of US$ 295 on arrival in the hotel. This fee includes transport from the airport and the first night of stay in the hotel, where you can make your further accommodation arrangements, or move to an other hotel the next , or any later day (you may have other preferences), which we will assist you with, if needed, and at no extra costs on our part. |
If you would want this service (up to you at any time), we will charge you a base fee of US$ 10 for the day of the occasion (not the day of your arrival), plus US$ 10 per hour (from half an hour counts as one). |
When and how do I pay for dental treatment?
You should pay your bill after every visit in the clinic for completed treatments. If not completed, make a down payment of 50% of the total advised costs and the rest in parts during the recurring visits and/or pay the final balance at the last visit. It is recommended that you have some days of stay left thereafter, to allow eventual complaints to be fixed, such as denture adjustments, before you leave and of course, at no extra costs. The clinic cannot accept card-payments, cash only. |
What currencies can I use in Cambodia?
The USD is the regular currency used in Cambodia and there are ATMs everywhere, where you can use your international credit or debit card, also in the arrival hall of Phnom Pehn airport. There are also many exchange points in town for most currencies. There are many banks and Western Union is well represented here also. Cambodia does have its own currency, the Riel, which is used for amounts below 1 USD. There are no coins here in either currency. The Riel is accepted by all as 4000 to the USD. |
Do you take any responsibility for the dental treatments?
No, we can't. You will be dealing with the dentist only, but in case of any difficulties, we will assist you the best we can. Our dentist is very service-minded, so we do not expect any 'irregularities' caused by him. We ourselves, living here since many years, have been patients of him since several years and we know him therefore very well - he's OK and most skillful. |
How can you guarantee quality treatment and what are the risks?
The highest quality of dental care and surgery services is provided in all of the dental clinics in Cambodia. The clinics take full responsibility for the quality of the service provided by their dentists - it is save to have dental surgery in Cambodia. Nonetheless, any procedure, whether dental or otherwise, has an inherent risk involved in it. We work only with accredited clinics (three at present from the same dentist) and certified medical professionals to deliver the best care. With this as our focus, plus our assistance during your stay, the risk involved is minimized. |

How long do I have to stay in Cambodia?
Minimum a week, but two weeks would be recommended. Some treatments may require more than a week, in which case the patient is required to stay for about 10 -14 days (our dentist also works in the weekends). If you want a complete renovation (mainly crown bridges and dentures) of all your teeth, count on 3 weeks minimum. You may ask advice from your local dentist, to get an idea what your condition is and what treatments would be required. Anyway, you likely want to do some sight-seeing in Cambodia as well, most of all the Angkor Wat , minimum 3 days needed for that, fits well between certain dental treatments, waiting for crowns, dentures, etc, to be made by the dental technicians, so who would want to stay only one week here? |
What can I get done in a week?
The dentist can complete - if no complications occur - a few crowns and a crown bridge, additionally a couple of fillings and canal treatments. It also depends on whether there is an inflammation in the mouth cavity and how the patient reacts to the treatment - it is recommended you consult your local dentist first, to make up a treatment plan. |
Can I have dentures made in Cambodia?
Sure, it's even a specialty here. However, in order to adjust the dentures properly, it will be necessary to visit the dentist several times: Usually 3 days is enough for the denture itself, but if teeth are to be drawn first (some can be infected) and/or other preparations needed, it can take around 10 days. Depending on your dental situation. |
Can I have crowns and bridges made in Cambodia?
Yes, crowns, and bridge treatments are very common here. A bridge is usually fixed on the roots of cut-off teeth, which may take some time, due to necessary canal treatments, usually 3 days for the latter, before the roots can be closed permanently. The bridge itself is ready within 3-4 days. Naturally, more than one bridge at once, would not require more time than for one only. |
Can I have implants done in Cambodia?
Yes, and our dentist is a specialist on that. However, though the implant itself takes only 30 minutes to place, it takes around 6 weeks for it to grow together with the bone, during which regular controls are necessary to prevent or treat complications like infections and the like. If you can't stay that long, you would have to go to your local dentist at home for this, but the implant itself is the expensive part and thus more than worth to do it here. If on the contrary the jaw bone must be remodeled first, which usually is the case for middle-aged and elderly patients, it can take up to 6 months for this to stabilize, also under regular control of the dentist. This modeling may also be very expensive in your own country, but if you can have the after-treatment done at your local dentist there and return to Cambodia for the implant itself , it could be most worthwhile, especially if you live in the pacific region. |

Yes. However, it is worth the journey only if bleaching is an additional treatment you need. |
I have a chronic medical condition. Will it be a problem to go to Cambodia?
Not necessarily. Still, depending on your type of illness, it is recommended that you consult with your doctor for a letter, stating your medical condition to be given to our dentist (in English). It is very important that he should be informed about your illnesses, medication, and other relevant details as early as possible, so that you can receive the safest and most suitable treatment. |

How about public safety in Cambodia?
Cambodia still has a bad reputation by its violent past, but this really is not motivated any longer. Its notorious landmines are cleared, except in some remote jungle areas at the borders, where tourists usually wouldn't go. Today it is a peaceful and rapidly modernizing country with no ethnic, political, nor religious conflicts of any kind and there are no terrorist threats here either, even less bombs going off, like in Bangkok. After Singapore, it has become the most western orientated country in the region, in specific Phnom Penh. Unlike in the large cities of most western countries, you can safely walk at night in the streets of Phnom Penh and other cities. Open violence doesn't occur here, but burglars, pick-pockets and bag-snatchers are plenty, albeit they only have a chance if you are careless - take care and nothing much will happen. |
