In his younger days, Rudolph Draaisma subscribed to the values of the social democrats, and was at one point even an active member of the social democrat party in Sweden. During his nearly 25 years of living in Southeast Asia, his ideology turned more conservative, and the result is what he called Social Realism.

The ideology of social realism
Ever since our prehistoric ancestors left the cave, human societies have increasingly become artificial ones. Unlike animals, who have to adapt to the natural environment in which they live, humans create their own environment, by what is called technology. The thinking mind let us believe that we not only are superior to animals, but also superior to nature, that we try to manipulate to fit our views and desires. During the millennia we thus have developed morals and ethics, not in the least religious ones, that made us create social economical systems that are totally in conflict with the laws of nature. One such law is that of Human Nature. The central postulate in Marx’s philosophy is that certain aspects of human nature, in specific egoism and greed, are conditioned by the social economic structure of a society. According to this postulate, greed and egoism can be eliminated in a communist society.
The central postulate in Social Realism is the exact opposite. According to this postulate, humans are as much subjected to the laws of nature as animals, in specific mammals, are. Humans are simply mammals with a thinking brain, or “intelligence”. This is the reality in Social Realism and it has great consequences for the structure of a society, that no longer fights this and other realities. On jumping to conclusions, some may think that thus Social Realism must be an anarchistic ideology, but the opposite is true. Nature is not anarchistic at all, but in fact a strict system of rules, that cannot be violated without punishment. In fact, if the laws of nature had only be slightly different from what they are, life on Earth would not have emerged, even less humans. Under billions of years, the biological systems on Earth have, on the basis of trial and error, developed into perfection. They must be perfect in order to exist at all, because only what is perfect could survive over such a time scale. Acknowledging this, we can understand that most significantly the natural conditioned relationship between the genders cannot be tampered with, as we unfortunately do in our artificial societies, making lawyers, politicians and psychiatrists rich. Also religious views interfere with this relationship, sometimes even dictates it totally. The result of all this is human suffering, which often leads to violent reactions, yet resulting in a new version of suffering.
- Therefore, the first rule of a Social Realistic State is the total separation between State and Religion. There will be total freedom of religion, but there will be not one religious word, nor any such expression in the State’s, or any community’s legislation. Religion in the Social Realistic State is a purely private matter and fully financed by the believers, such as confessional schools, churches, temples, etc. This does not mean that Social Realism is an atheistic ideology, but simply that it is neutral towards religion – it doesn’t care whether there is a God Creator, or not.
- The second rule of a Social Realistic State is well formulated by Goethe at the time: “The Human is a social creature”. This implies that the individual is mentally totally dependent of social relationships. The worst thing that can happen to a person, even worse than death, is to be locked out by all others around. Social Realism postulates, that the strongest human drive is that of “social acceptance” and this lies in the basic of its social economic structure. Instead of having many laws that in detail try to regulate the individual’s behavior, it establishes a social structure, by which the individual cannot afford to step out of line, without becoming socially isolated to a more or lesser extend. Thus the individual will become self-correcting, as is inevitable by the laws of nature. This will be clarified more in the following.
- The Social Realistic State is a democracy, with freedom of speech, free enterprise and equal rights for all by law.
The following are the consequences of the above rules and postulates. There is an exception however, as to the question whether Social Realism is at the right, or the left of the political scale. The answer is neither. It is bivalent in this respect and one could equally call it “red capitalism”, or “blue socialism”. The laws of Nature clearly are “capitalistic”, or rather “conservative” and as such promote “the survival of the fittest”, or “the right of the strongest”. The Social Realistic State doesn’t follow this principle in words, but yet as to a modified intention. It depends on the definition of “fittest” and “strongest”. In Social Realism it is rather about “the good guys” and “the bad guys”. The good guys are those who conduct themselves and the bad guys are those who don’t. The good are the strongest and fittest, or rather made to be that. It is the same idea as we can see in the world of social mammals, such as wolves, apes, elephants, etc where deviating individuals cannot survive – they are locked out, or even get killed directly. The human is a social creature and thus must behave in a socially accepted manner. Who does, is strong, who doesn’t, is weak.
Notwithstanding this intention, the Social Realistic State guarantees all its inhabitants a good standard of life:
- Free education on all levels for all who have the ability to master it.
- Free medical care of adequate quality for all.
- Decent nourishment and living accommodation (no “slums”).
- A minimum income for all who are unable to earn at least that amount themselves.
This Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI) is set to provide a minimum acceptable living standard. Whoever is not able to earn up to this amount, will be paid the difference. GMI automatically becomes pension for those who reach the eligible age, regardless gender and professional background. There will not be any other form of social economic support than this GMI, admitted to all of 18 years and older. However, there will be a set of provisions to prevent anyone to parasite on GMI. Those who are unwilling to support themselves, or disabled themselves by the abuse of alcohol and/or drugs, will be excluded from GMI and subjected to programs of various kinds, including possible detention in forced labor camps. There will be no beggars on the streets.
